The Kings Trust revamp The Falcon Support Services annex into a new Life Hub

27 Oct 2025

The Falcon Support Services is delighted that proceeds from The Kings Trust’s latest charity fundraising event at Tesco in the Rushes were used used to refurbish our annex which is the life and soul of our community projects.

After they raised £304 for charitable causes in the community during a raffle and fundraising day, The Kings Trust pledged to spend some of that money on paint and materials to transform our space. During the event on Friday, 10 October they also donated a Flymo and a Gazebo which will help us greatly with our work.

The Kings Trust Team, managed by Kira Gough, agreed to send a team of 10 to spruce up the area ready for the launch of our Life Hub.

They went away to purchase the paint and days later, in true DIY SOS style, work began on Wednesday with 12 willing volunteers from the Kings Trust arriving on site ready to help us with our project.

Transforming our hub

First, they helped move belongings and furniture out of the way and then they started to reorganise the room to allow the work to be done. Then they got to work sanding down the walls and then they painted.

The team was made up of young people from Team 12, run by The Kings Trust in Loughborough, The 12 week programme is for individuals aged 16 to 25, who are not in education, employment or training. The programme is free and focuses on building confidence and skills for work.

Thank you

Wellbeing Manager Carmel Martin was delighted, she said: “We are excited that The Kings Trust agreed to use some of the funds from their fundraising day to help our charity and then came to carry out the work.

“Not only did they donate the paint but they then came along and helped us to re-vamp the annex space. This means so much to us as the space provides such a haven for our service users who are in recovery and helps the community.

"Thank you so much. It will help us to keep on target for the launch of our life hub.”

"The area is now a welcoming place where service users can come to relax and learn - we are so pleased with it."

The annex was out action while the work took place to transform the space over a week and a half but the results were magic. Now it is a haven of tranquility, a new space to enjoy.

Thanks to the staff at The Falcon Support Services who have helped us at short notice to make the annex ready for The Kings Trust’s arrival. Even though the space was out of action for a week and a half due to ongoing work to transform it into a haven of tranquility - it looks great.

The space is ready to use again with an exciting programme. The room looks fantastic and we are so grateful to The Kings Trust for all their help. Welcome to our new Life Hub."

The new class timetable is available online, beginning with a Better Brain class today.
