This week we have enjoyable activities going on for Mental Health Awareness Week. We had something going on for everyone to enjoy all week! Relaxation workshops, dog walks, vision boards and much more.
Mental Health foundation is a UK charity that focuses on preventing Mental Health problems. They create an impact by raising awareness for Mental Health and advocating for change. In addition to this they provide information and support to individuals, which is what we do at the Flacon.
We at Falcon believe Mental Health is incredibly important and do our best to ensure service users are given support through their journey to independence, as well as keeping them busy with enjoyable activities. Staff wore green representing growth and new begins to get more involved in Mental Health Awareness Week. As well as hosting activities for members of the public to get involved in.
Matt Taylor the Community Manager at the Falcon says "Mental Health Awareness Week is a valuable reminder that everyone faces challenges with their mental wellbeing at times. It’s an opportunity for us to come together, share experiences, and learn new ways to understand, manage, and support our mental health—both individually and as a community."
On Monday members of the public took part in a Peer Led Wellbeing Squad, allowing them to relax, make new friends and spend time focusing on themselves. That’s not all! Throughout the rest of the week, we enjoyed the beautiful scenery at our Allotment community garden while taking part in sing and string. We had activities that involved focusing on future goals, took part in relaxing workshops and are going on a group walk with our furry friends on Friday!
This week allowed us to focus on ourselves, spend time with members of the public and service users. We enjoyed putting a smile on people's faces, providing them with a safe place where they could come and take time for themselves.
