On 4 August 2025, Falcon Support Services launched our Off the Streets project, funded through the Community Safety Partnership. As part of this initiative, the organisation extended its day centre opening hours to include overnight provision, operating from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. This allowed individuals sleeping rough in Charnwood to access a safe, warm environment during the night, offering vital respite from the streets. Throughout these extended hours, visitors were also provided with hot meals, drinks, and essential support.
The aim of the project was to alleviate rough sleeping in the area, while also working closely with individuals to identify longer-term solutions to their housing needs. Over the course of the initiative, the centre recorded 949 visits from 138 individuals, and successfully supported 15 people into accommodation.

Feedback from attendees highlighted the positive impact of the service. When asked what they valued most about the Off the Streets project.
One service user said: “It was warm and gave me a chance to charge my phone and eat some food.”
Another appreciated the “warmth, drinks, food and staff," while another enjoyed 'being able to go to a safe warm place.”
But for one it was the creature comforts of home such as: “being able to watch TV.”
Additional comments further reflected the appreciation expressed by service users:
One said simply: “I would just like to say thank you."
Another said: “The staff were all so good, while another said: “It would be good if we could get more funding and continue.”

The success of the project demonstrates the ongoing need for accessible, overnight support for individuals experiencing homelessness. Falcon Support Services remains committed to working with partners to secure future funding and ensure that vulnerable people in Charnwood can continue to access safe, supportive spaces when they need them most.
