Position Title: Community Support Volunteer

Location: Loughborough

Hours of duty: Various hours/days available. Happy to discuss further.

About us:

Falcon Support Services provides supported accommodation and community projects to those that are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or vulnerable in the community.

Our service helps vulnerable people who may be experiencing poor mental health, substance misuse issues and/or loneliness get the support needed to move away from homelessness.

Our Drop-In day centre provides a safe space for service users to access support and basic needs.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

We are looking for an individual with a friendly manner, dependable, able to work on own initiative and empathetic to the needs of our client group.

As a community support volunteer, your responsibility will be providing a welcoming approach and supporting service users who present at the Drop In. This could include listening/befriending, providing access to shower facilities & toiletries, form filling, supporting with phone calls & sign posting.

There will also be opportunities to support service users during activities that take place at other projects within the service.

Training:

Relevant training for the role is provided by Falcon Support Services.

Supervision:

Ongoing supervision meetings with Volunteer Coordinator.

Requirements:

  • Must be over the age of 18.
  • Willingness to take a DBS check.
  • Provide a reference.
  • Respect and maintain the confidentiality of others and the services.
