Position Title: Volunteer Fundraiser

Location: Loughborough

Hours of Duty: Various hours/days available, preferably one full day a week (8 hours). Happy to discuss further.

About Us:

Falcon Support Services provides supported accommodation and community projects to those who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or vulnerable in the community. Our service helps vulnerable people by providing safe and secure accommodation with our staff working alongside clients to help them develop their skills, so they can move away from homelessness to living independently and positively contribute to their community.

Role Purpose:

As a Volunteer Fundraiser, you will play a crucial role in supporting our mission by raising essential funds, planning and leading community fundraising events, and managing donor relations. Your efforts will help sustain our services and create opportunities for those we support to build better lives.

Main Responsibilities:

Fundraising:

  • Actively engage in fundraising activities to support our cause, ensuring regular fundraising targets are met.
  • Reach out to potential donors, organise donation drives, and seek sponsorships.

Event Planning and Leadership:

  • Plan, organise, and lead innovative community fundraising events and activities, such as charity runs, bake sales, gala dinners, and online crowdfunding campaigns.
  • Prepare and manage materials for charitable events, including fundraising envelopes, bid sheets, gift bags, and promotional materials.

Database Management:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of supporters, donors, and potential funders.
  • Ensure that all information is up-to-date and accurately recorded to facilitate effective communication and follow-up.

General Support:

  • Provide high-quality support to the team, empowering clients to make positive changes and informed choices.
  • Assist with administrative duties, including maintaining precise and accurate notes and completing an end-of-day handover.
  • Utilise IT systems to record and input information relevant to each individual client.

Compliance / Health & Safety:

  • Due to the nature of work, this post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and will require you to disclose all criminal convictions and comply with a DBS check.

  • Take reasonable care of your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your actions.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

  • Experience working on your own initiative to deliver a high-quality service.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to support proactively with limited direct supervision.
  • Clear communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Experience in fundraising, event planning, or a similar role/industry is desirable but not mandatory.

Qualifications:

  • Falcon Support Services are equipped to train and support people who do not have relevant skills and experience but do have the right values, behaviours, and attitudes.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Must be over the age of 18.
  • Willingness to undergo a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
