14 Feb 2024

This March Janine and Ben will be taking on a terrifying shark dive! they will be getting up close and personal with an array of incredible sea life species, ranging from rays and unicorn fish to black top reef sharks and zebra sharks!

They are taking on this task to help raise vital funds for our Save The Falcon Centre campaign and facing their fears!

A little about Janine

Janine started with the charity as a support worker before taking up a role as the Peer Mentor Co-ordinator - helping people navigate their recovery journey and gain successful outcomes and has now joined the Fundraising team!

A little about Janie

“I am a 34 year old mummy to my beautiful 3 year old daughter. I am a fairly active person (I think most mums to toddlers are) who tries at attend the gym a few times a week. In the past I have completed 5 and 10k races as well as completing the Brighton Marathon. Before coming to work for the Charity I was a Hairdresser for 15 years starting as a apprentice to owning my own salon. So quite a change, however I have a great passion for what Falcon Support Services do for the people we support and absolutely love working here. What I’m not a fan of is deep waters and what may be living in it! This is going to be a challenge for me and something I haven’t done before but I have seen first hand what the support we offer as a charity does for our services users and to be able to help to raise money to help continue that support was a no brainer for me.”

A little about Ben

“I am physically active; I enjoy playing rugby and was selected to play in the national 7’s tournament for my college team that had been partnered with England Rugby. I attend the gym regularly and love keeping fit as well as helping to coach a girl’s rugby team and as a result, am teaching and learning additional life skills. I am a qualified Recreational Scuba Diver and successfully passed all the Theory exams for Dive Master qualification at the age of 11. I have also taken part in a shark dive in Dubai when I was 11 so I know the fear lol. I also put my passion for sport and the great outdoors to good use by doing fundraising activities such as walks and cycles to raise money for charities such as the NSPCC”
