On Tuesday evening our Fundraising and Communications Manager Lee and Senior Harm Reduction Worker Vikky Sutherland were on hand to congratulate and present #Teamfalcon fundraising medals to members of Furnley house who took part in the annual run in order to raise vital funds that will help the continued work of Falcon.
A hilly course and an unseasonably cold evening made for a tough run but the team absolutely smashed it.
Not only did they post great times, but they also obliterated their £500 target raising over £863 setting a fine example of what is possible when local business gets behind a local charity.
Kevin Dunn of Furnley house, who was responsible for planning the team effort said "the #teamfalcon medals were a brilliant touch, when I got home my son thought I had won the race!"
For other members of the team it was their first ever race, making the night even more of a special achievement.
Falcon staff member Lee, who took part in the event said "I really want to work with businesses to provide their staff with opportunities to take part in challenges, like the Rothley 10k, in order to help improve staff health and well being, something that having worked in Defence Recovery and Adaptive Sport I am very passionate about. I hope more local businesses will join #teamfalcon to help raise awareness of the complex issues surrounding homelessness, which aren't always as black and white as you might think"
The whole of Falcon would like to thank Team Furnley and congratulate them on an awesome run!
See you at the next one!!
