Team Falcon takes on The Great North Run: £2,840 raised

Well done to the falcon team of 4 who took on the challenge of The Great North Run earlier this month to raise money for Falcon Support Services.

Rachel, our Deputy CEO who stepped in at the last minute to fill a space; Lee, our Fundraising Manager who organised the group; Eve, friend of the charity who ran to support us; and Wayne one of our business champions from WCA who demonstrated further commitment to supporting us by taking part.

Our ‘Make Rachel Run’ campaign was a huge success after we were left with a spare space in the race needing to be filled. Rachel achieved her fundraising goal and was a great team player in joining the challenge at such short notice.

The 13.1 mile (21 kilometre) run from Newcastle to South Shields was no easy feat and with this year having the hottest weather recorded for this run, all while a months’ worth of rain for the area poured down on our runners in the space of an hour, it is fair to say Team Falcon had it tough. Falcon Support Services are very proud of the persistence and determination of the team and extend a huge congratulations for completing the challenge and raising an amazing £2,840 for our cause.
