Marathon in a Month

Over the month of June staff member Janine Lane completed 26.2 miles to help raise awareness of issues surrounding homelessness and to inspire others to take part in their own challenge.

Janine, who hadn't run for some time dusted off the running shoes and started clocking up the miles, and with help from a few other staff members and a little bit of healthy competition not only completed the distance, went on to run over 30 miles.

Janine is employed as our Peer Mentor Coordinator, she oversees our mentoring program where those who have had a successful recovery are paired with others on their journey to help ensure a positive outcome.

"I hope by completing the challenge it will inspire others to use physical activity as a positive tool to help aid recovery and improve their health". "If members of the public, my friends and family see what I have done and decide to get involved and can help us raise awareness of the charity and the work we do then even better".

Our June Marathon Challenge was our third Virtual Challenge of 2023 - previous challenges included our 300k Step Challenge and the Great 24hr Challenge.
