Local Businesses Attend Falcon Net

Local Businesses Attend Falcon Net

30 Jun 2023

This week saw a great turn out at our second quarterly Falcon Net meeting.

Here local businesses were able to learn more about the services that Falcon provide, hear about how their ongoing support is helping us to impact on the lives of those most vulnerable and isolated in society and engage with other local business leaders.

An update of what fundraising activities we have been doing over the past 3 months was also shared and included some of the people in the room, such as Stuart Allen, who took part in the Great Birmingham Run 10 as part of #teamfalcon recently.

Also (seen above, chatting with Natalie and Stuart Allen of NS Property), Shawn Barton attended, he is currently training for an insane 4x4x48 challenge that will take place in August and see him run for 4 miles, every 4 hours for 48 hours - you can learn more about his challenge, join him or donate here: Falcon Support Services: Falcon 4x4x48 Challenge (enthuse.com)

Taylor Gee of Design Only Gardens kindly spoke to the group about what is motivating him to support Falcon by completing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, but also why it is important to support local charities within your community. "Falcon Support Services do phenomenal work for not only the homeless but also those at risk of homelessness, providing valuable support for people in a time of crisis"

We also had present Chisom Nwolisa, who represented Consultus Group who some may remember sponsored our Frozen Falcon Flag back in March, where our Fundraising and Communications Manager Lee climbed Mount Toubkhal.

We were also joined by Nicola Ockenden of Nationwide who recently donated a significant amount of funds to support a move on worker, legendary fundraiser Darren Bradbury of Furnley House, Annette Griffin of Utilities Warehouse, Cat Eley Gaunt of Elegant Wealth Management, Guy Walsh an awesome local photographer and 2 local PCSOs (ssssh say nothing).

We also had Ian from Evolution attend, who recently became our newest Business Champion and was a great pleasure to be able to present him with his certificate to hang in his business premises.

A special thank you to Falcon Business Champion Adrian Bracken of ABH Safety, who could not make the meeting but funded the buffet - top man!

Shawn Barton of Mark J Rees LLP won our Golf Prize draw - a free round of Golf for 4 kindly donated by Horsley Lodge.

The next quarterly Falcon Net meeting will be on the Tuesday 26th of September.
