Goal! Team Falcon Wins

Recovery month has ended, and we have finished it off with two final activities in awareness of recovery. Staying active with a Recovery walk fundraiser today Friday 29^th September staff, service users and supporters walked 18 miles to raise funds for Falcon, with £549 raised so far. And our service users put their weekly football sessions to the test in this year’s football tournament organised by Turning Point on Friday 22^nd with Team Falcon winning the tournament and taking home the glory.

The teams had just received a brand-new football kit provided and sponsored by Finne Groundworks which really gave them a sense of togetherness and belonging, unifying the team. Team Falcon was represented by two teams who competed in the tournament. Team One put up an excellent fight but despite their efforts got knocked out after four games in the group stages. Team Two made it through and beat New Hope in the semi-finals and brought the tournament to an exciting final against Turning Point. The game went to penalties and Team Falcon brought it home!

Playing football is one of the weekly activities put on by the recovery and harm reduction team for our service users to engage in positive activities, beneficial for their wellbeing.

Our recovery services are part of the vital work we deliver at Falcon Support services and many service users find them to be a lifeline. Winning a football tournament is a team effort, and so is the road to recovery. Persistence, determination, and a supportive network of people guiding you and supporting you every step of the way leads towards success. Falcon Support Services recovery team work in a person-centred approach, working with people to help break the cycle of addiction with their individual programmes and aftercare services.
