News and events Blog World Smile Day The first Friday of October is World Smile Day. A day to encourage acts of kindness, and of course to smile. Smiling releases endorphins, natural painkillers, and serotonin. Together these three neurotransmitters make us feel good from head to toe, but there are other health benefits: Improved Mood Lower Blood Pressure Stress Relief Better Relationships Stronger Immune Function Pain Relief Longer Life These health benefits are a sure sign that smiling is good for us but not only that, it’s good for others. Smiling can brighten someone’s day. Like the ripple effect of a pebble thrown into a pond, your smile will spread far beyond the first person who received it. William Arthur Ward said, “A warm smile is the universal language of kindness”. Just think how many people could benefit because you smiled first. I challenge you to intentionally use your smile to positively impact the people around you. Be the person that is remembered for their smile.
